About the PCN
The Professional Copywriters’ Network is a membership organisation for commercial writers based in the UK.
It was founded by ABC Copywriting and Ben Locker & Associates, two UK copywriting agencies. Staff from the two agencies manage this site and the day-to-day administration of the network.
The PCN is here to:
• Bring copywriters together in a friendly community so we can give each other advice and support
• Promote professional standards in the copywriting industry
• Develop the reputation of the copywriting profession, and make more people aware of the great work we do
• Champion realistic and fair pricing for copywriting services, mainly through our recommended rates.
Who can join?
Membership is open to anyone who writes for commercial or corporate clients in the UK. If you’re involved in planning, writing, rewriting or editing on a commercial basis, you can join.
We welcome freelancers, employees (for example, those working in agencies), company owners, students and people considering a copywriting career. All we ask is that you can show us some sort of portfolio – ideally online – so we can confirm the quality and quantity of your work.
To become a member, you don’t have to be based in the UK – but you do need to serve the UK market.
When you join, you also agree to promote our recommended minimum rates as the basis for your prices wherever possible.
What does it cost?
Membership is completely free.
