Introducing our new series of copywriting primers

Last week on Twitter, PCN member Andy Nattan put out the following call for help:

As the responses came in, Andy got in touch to suggest that we develop a ‘copywriting 101’ resource collating useful blog posts by copywriters. We thought this was an excellent idea. But copywriting is a pretty broad topic isn’t it…so how about a series of posts covering different aspects of copywriting, linking to good blog posts or other online resources?

These ‘copywriting primers’ will be especially useful for people at an early stage of their copywriting career, but we also hope they’ll be of value to more experienced copywriters who want to brush up their knowledge (there’s always more to learn) or find resources for training materials.

This week I’ll be kicking off our series of copywriting primers with a subject I feel strongly about: plain English. If you’d like to contribute a primer on a copywriting topic that’s important to you, whether it’s the writing process, proofreading, grammar, style or anything else, then comment below or drop me a line at editor@procopywriters.co.uk

Hey Joanna,

I’m interested in tone of voice and brand personality. Perhaps this could feature information and advice on adopting styles, whilst still injecting your own personality? It’s a fun topic of discussion, but has a serious side to it as well.
