Hertz Car Rental – Stuttgart Airport (SGT)

Introduction

Stuttgart Airport is one of Germany’s largest and busiest, an important international hub for a number of major airlines. It saw over 10.5 million passengers pass through its four terminals in 2015 and the figure keeps increasing year on year. It’s a major hub for the Germanwings carrier, and its close proximity to the Stuttgart financial district and attractions make it ideal for accessing the historic and cultural attractions of the region with Hertz Car Rental.

Hertz Car Rental has been operating for more than a century. The company provides a wide range of international customers with car hire options that allow visitors to Stuttgart Airport and other major centres the convenience of self-drive. Located close to Arrivals in terminal 1, the Hertz Car Rental branch is the quickest and most convenient way to rent a car in Stuttgart for your ongoing business or pleasure trip.

About the Airport

Opened in 1939, Stuttgart International Airport was taken over by the US army in 1945 before being handed back to the Germans in 1948. After the war, the airport was greatly expanded to cope with demand by international visitors, and in 2004 the old 1938 terminal was finally completely replaced by four new terminals. There has been much talk about building a second runway but so far this has remained in the planning stage. In 2014 both easyJet and Ryanair added Stuttgart Airport to their list of German destinations.

Stuttgart Airport’s four passenger terminal each has its own check-in facilities and entrance but they share an airside zone and it’s easy to pass between them. Germanwings and Lufthansa use Terminal 1 and you’ll find the main shopping concourse located between Terminals 1 and 3.
