Copywriting is a lot like archery.

Your copy is like the arrowhead: often short, sharp... able to engage.

Your target is an apple called attention: small, atop the heads of your audience, and beset by the whirlwind of modern life spinning around each of our noggins.

There's a lot your archer needs, but a couple of things stand out in particular:

1. Vision to understand the target — where it is now... where it will be.

2. A sense of how far to draw back the bow.

Both come only with experience.

Experience with different targets in varied terrain and conditions.
