Courses for 16 to 18-year-olds

Making decisions about your education after you’ve left school can be daunting. From having your time and subjects mapped out, you’re suddenly asked to choose courses and qualifications that could shape the rest of your life.

Don’t worry, we’re here to help. Weston College offers a huge range of course and subject options, and provides advice and guidance to help you choose the right programme of study.

Our results are consistently above national standards. They make us the top-achieving college in the West of England and one of the most successful in the country.

By studying a course with us, you’re not only working towards a qualification. You’re also opening up progression routes to your chosen career. Whether you want to progress to university, gain skills to improve your job prospects, or do an Apprenticeship, Weston College has the course to suit you.

Courses for adults

There are many reasons people return to education.

You might want to progress in your current job, get professional qualifications, retrain totally, progress to university or simply learn a new hobby. Whatever the reason, we have the course and programme of study to suit you.

You will probably have many demands on your time, and our flexible, part-time course provision has been designed with this in mind.

We provide a fantastic range of vocational qualifications and progression routes, which allow you to achieve your aims and fulfil your potential.

Many people return to college because they want to do a university-level course. If this applies to you, our Access to Higher Education courses are ideal as they provide a number of pathways, depending on the degree you’d like to study.

If you’d like to learn new skills but are unsure which course to choose, don’t worry. We offer free individual advice and guidance to determine the most appropriate route for you.

We also realise that coming to College can be a daunting prospect – particularly if you’re returning to education after a long break. That’s why we aim to make your time at Weston College as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We provide an adult-friendly learning environment, and more than half of our students are over 19. This will allow you to make the most of your time with us, as well as meet new friends and have a great time.

Apprenticeships

An Apprenticeship is a real job with real pay. It has all the benefits of a regular position, plus worthwhile training.

Apprenticeships often suits students who have a clear idea what career they want, and don’t want to study full-time.

An Apprenticeship is a structured training programme, available at Levels 2, 3, 4 and, often, 5. It gives you a nationally recognised qualification and allows you to choose the speed you wish to work at. You also get an experienced assessor who supports you all the way through, making sure you reach your full potential.
