Qualifications & Awards

After a degree in Media Studies, I joined the British Printing Industries Federation as deputy editor of Printing Industries magazine. I learned to proofread at the BPIF. I joined a major internal comms agency as an editor, writing print and online magazines and newspapers for large corporates. I became a chief sub and then joined ING Barings to look after its brand. I've won loads of awards from the Institute of Internal Communication (IOIC) for editing and writing. As a freelancer, I've won the Best Freelancer award in the ICon Awards and two regional awards of excellence for best communication, as well as an Award of Excellence in the Communicator of the Year Awards.

Profile

Quick, accurate, affordable, creative. That's what one of my clients says about me. I love turning woolly language into clear content, getting style and tone of voice spot on, delivering content to a deadline, and that rush you get when you nail a great headline. I trained as a journalist and worked as a writer, editor and proofreader in internal communications before turning freelance 15 years ago.

I have extensive experience in writing and editing corporate communications, marketing and PR for clients ranging from Regus to Utilitywise.

I love the diversity of writing for different sectors, including charities, insurance, design, transport, architecture, cosmetics, chemicals, flexible working, and postal services. Outside work, my passions are cinema, reading, getting out with the family and socialising.
