I improved Steve’s website text and marketing materials by tightening the message to enable a more direct communication with potential clients. Seeing that I had a strong grip on word-wrangling, Steve then invited me to script a marketing video he was working on.

From that very first opportunity, I flew into scriptwriting and several more commissions followed. The concise wordsmithing needed by video scripting suits my writing style so well.

Steve’s keen insight expressed in five short words helped me realise that tight word discipline is where I shine the most. So following months of deep thought and research, I recently pivoted into UX (user experience) writing because UX is all about detail.

UX Writing is only about 4 years old as a job description but looking back, I have been a UX-er for such a long time. To add to my years of writing experience and natural skills, I am professionalising my UX future by taking training in design tools, research, analytics, and Design Thinking.
