I write web content, social media updates, white papers, blog posts and adverts for startups, small businesses, corporations and government agencies.
Much of my work is for the web, and I'm particularly interested in mobile apps, content strategy, SEO, social media and emerging technologies.
When I write for clients I focus on the end user, and what we can do for them. Copy should enable, encourage, entice and persuade customers to take action, not just look pretty or sound nice. Nice is never enough.
When I'm not writing copy for clients I get involved with initiatives to support other copywriters and freelancers. This includes directing the Professional Copywriters' Network and producing a podcast for all kinds of freelancers. That's called Our Freelance Life and you can listen at www.ourfreelancelife.com
In 2008 I wrote Brilliant Freelancer, which was published by Pearson.
Outside of work I'm pretty restless, so I like to be walking, cycling and running (whenever I get a break from the kids!).
