About
I translate brand strategy into language that resonates, helping brands stand out with personality, clarity and impact.
Collaborating with world-class agencies such as Wolff Olins, Johnson Banks, Taxi Studio, Manifest, and Territory as a senior brand writer, I craft brand voices, verbal identities and creative campaigns.
I also partner directly with brands, and have a long-running relationship with Virgin that began with Virgin By Design – a coffee-table book charting the fascinating evolution of the brand from 1970–2020.
After two decades as a design editor and journalist, I can dig deep to find what makes a brand tick – and express it in ways that captivate and resonate.
In 2013, I launched the Brand Impact Awards to celebrate the world’s best branding. The BIAs have since grown into a key event in the design calendar, attracting world-class work from the best in the business.
My role as chair of judges gives me unique insight into how brands stand out in a fast-changing world. From over a decade of intense panel debates, I’ve gained deep understanding of what makes world-class branding – knowledge I bring to every project.
Every design agency works differently, so I adapt my approach to match your needs. Think of me as a senior extension of your team – bringing strategic writing expertise to your projects in whatever way works best.
Whether you’re a small studio needing full-service support, a larger agency looking for specialist collaboration, or an in-house team wanting extra capacity, I’ll help create something beautifully effective.
I offer day rates for focused briefs and project-based fees for larger initiatives. While I work remotely, I’m always available for key meetings when needed.
