Cooking up bed and breakfast web content from scratch

I was delighted to be asked to bring a long-standing client’s new B&B/bunkhouse venture online of Gallows Hill B&B and bunkhouse near Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Solution

• Project liaison – the client asked me to liaise directly with the design company on their behalf
• Navigation – my brief included planning the menu and navigation structure
• Colour scheme – as I’d been on a site visit, I could feedback to colour scheme to the website designers
• Photography – to avoid clunky copyright image captions, I donated photos for the local area page

Dealing with varying target audiences

The property also includes a bunkhouse as well as an exclusive hire option. This means it can cater for everything from romantic getaways to family get togethers, reunions to school field trips. I therefore embedded specific Frequently Asked Questions sections within the relevant sections, tailored to each audience.

My client was delighted that we managed to launch the website within six weeks.
