Little me desperately wanted to be a writer and I handwrote a 72 page story called 'Goblin Illness' when I was 10. My mum was a childminder, then my parents became foster carers and it turned out I was pretty great with children. So I got a 'proper' job and became a primary school teacher.
I spent eleven years helping children learn in creative ways. The last five years was in Senior Leadership and whole-school English Leadership which wasn't as creative and work started to feel further and further away from my values.
So I took the writing skills I'd developed (school website, newsletters, schemes of work, training programmes, reports) and started copywriting as a freelancer in 2023.
After writing for different industries and finding out what I enjoyed, I rebranded as Head and Heart Messaging in 2025. Head and Heart Messaging is writing with strategy and soul that helps health and wellness businesses and charities meet regulations and compliance while still sounding human and connecting with their audience.
