Rebecca Miles
ProHi, I'm Rebecca. I write copy and content for financial institutions, including Zopa and Currencies Direct, and I care as much about how the process feels as what is published at the end of it.
About
Before copywriting, I was a magazine and newspaper journalist, writing for high-end, eco-focused brands, including The Hideaways Club and Green Traveller, and for national newspapers such as the Independent, The i Paper and the Telegraph.
That journalist instinct is still how I approach a brief: ask the follow up questions to get to the heart of the matter – and only then start writing.
My route into finance started with estate agents Keatons, writing a newsletter to drive valuation enquiries. That led to more technical work with mortgage adviser SPF, then DUAL (part of the Howden Group), into landing page copy for Currencies Direct, untangling dense financial products for subtly different audiences without a second read. It's also what brought me to where I work now, inside Zopa Bank's content team, on editorial enhancement, landing pages and conversion rate optimisation.
Longer-form, ongoing work is where I do some of my favourite thinking. I've been working with interior designer Leo Wood at Kinder Design on newsletters and thought leadership for over a year now, building a body of work that positions her as a thoughtful, considered and joyful designer.
When I'm not working with larger companies, I like to work with small business owners, helping them find their core messaging that sits at the very foundation of all their marketing. A recent client in this area was Patsy Fuller, owner of Barnfields Wedding & Events in Essex. About working together, she said, "Rebecca's strategic insight, clear communication and attention to detail made the process more straightforward and enjoyable."
I take on one-off strategic copywriting projects, messaging deep dives, ongoing work with content teams, and long-form thought leadership partnerships with founders.
If your subject matter is complicated and your current copy doesn't do it justice, get in touch.
