THE PROJECT
The central London district of Bloomsbury wasn’t on the map nor understood geographically and emotionally by its visitors. This project aimed to change that by creating a recognisable brand that captured all of Bloomsbury’s qualities as a thriving neighbourhood worth visiting.
ABOUT BLOOMSBURY LONDON
Stakeholders and landowners from across Bloomsbury have joined forces for the first time to put the ‘Bloom’ back into Bloomsbury. The partnership will invest £400 million over the next five years to attract new occupiers, businesses and visitors to the area.
TONE OF VOICE
Vibrant, inspiring, engaging, intriguing, warm and informative.
THE FINAL COPY
- We are a place for the movers, the shakers and the idea makers. A place for the curious where imagination is never watered down. We are bold, bright and ever-blossoming. We are Bloomsbury.
- Bloomsbury is more than just a London neighbourhood; it’s a living testament to the bold visionaries who shaped its past. From the development of some of the city’s first garden squares in the 17th century to the innovative minds of the Bloomsbury Set, this area has always been a hub of forward-thinking. Today, Bloomsbury remains a place where ideas flourish and imaginations run wild.
- Though peaceful and village-like, Bloomsbury puts you just moments from world-class museums, lively West End theatres and the energy of central London living. A Bloomsbury address also means you’ll follow in the footsteps of literary greats and pioneering thinkers who found inspiration strolling these very streets. Perhaps living here will inspire you, too.
- If you’re looking for additional amenities, reserve a room at The Montague on the Gardens, home of honey masterclasses at their on-site beehives. Young families can enjoy babysitting services, milk and cookies before bed and whimsical play tents at The Bloomsbury. Or, enjoy the peace of private gardens at the Bedford Hotel and let the London bustle slip away.
- For wining and dining, swing by Amelie’s Wine House, where you can pair cheese and charcuterie with a bottle of France’s finest. Turn up the glamour at The Coral Room for cocktails and English sparkling wine in their vibrant villa-style bar. Or, drop by the recently revamped London Pub for a cheeky afternoon pint in their courtyard garden.
- Fill your evening with Italian food and live piano at Ciao Bella, or revel in a night of entertainment at The Faulty Towers Dining Experience. If you run out of time to enjoy everything Bloomsbury has to offer, why not settle into a wonderful hotel? With an option for every budget, you could make the adventure last all weekend.
- Head to Lamb’s Conduit Street and discover all the makers, bakers and self-taught tailors populating this independent community. Update your wardrobe with a simple yet detailed piece from Folk or some made-to-measure menswear from the Italian artisans at 40 Colori. Why not pick up something from Parisian-inspired jewel box Maggie Owen to add a striking detail to your outfit, too?
- Explore the vibrant array of homeware shops in the neighbourhood and bring a touch of Bloomsbury into your home. Landmark store Heals has been a destination for lovers of great design since 1810, and Pentreath and Hall is bursting with unusual and decorative trinkets. Or if ‘hygge’ is more your vibe, explore the Nordic-inspired goods in the aisles of Søstrene Grene.
