UK Copywriters Directory

  • I am a copywriter based in Plymouth specialising in fitness, travel/tourism, corporate comms and event management. I can help you to write and edit: ✍️ blog posts ✍️ press releases ✍️ magazine articles ✍️ product descriptions ✍️ web copy. When I'm not in the office, you can find me out on a run, lifting weights in the gym or gliding along one of the many waterways around Devon and Cornwall on my paddleboard (weather permitting! 🤞) During the summer I can also be found working in Event Control at several of the UK's biggest festivals (Download, Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Beautiful Days). So, with me, you get a copywriter who walks the walk. Scroll on down to the portfolio section to see examples of my work, and if you like what you see, scroll back up to get in touch!

  • Hi there! I’m Toph Heighes. I run a small writing and editorial service called Heighes Editorial, dedicated to helping clients bring their stories to life. My work centres on ghostwriting and self-publishing support, but everything I do is tailored to the individual. No two clients or projects are the same, which is exactly what I love about this work. Strong communication is at the heart of my service. I invest in genuine relationships with my clients and I’m proud that many choose to work with me again after their first project. My ghostwriting services are always fully confidential, offering a safe, trusted space to share your story. My pricing mostly depends on the scale of the project: shorter projects are usually priced per word, while larger or ongoing projects are based on weekly hours. I truly love what I do. Helping people shape their ideas, nurture their stories, and finally hold their finished book in their hands is a privilege that never gets old. If you feel my skills and approach align with what you need, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

  • When you're tired of being just another voice shouting into the marketing noise... When you want to build distinctive, living brands, sustained by authentic stakeholder relationships… Here's where to come. * Branding and Brand Strategy * Creative Concepts & Copy * PR * Speeches * Storytelling * I’m 66 with a 40-year career in communications, providing Board-Level / C-suite support to big names in areas as diverse as corporate philanthropy, expedition cruises, packaging, medicine and motorcycling. I consequently offer deep and extensive experience of branding, copywriting and storytelling, working both in-house and as a freelance for advertising agencies, blue-chip multinationals, philanthropic organisations and non-profits alike. The services I provide range from board-level support with communications strategy and brand development to writing copy and concepts for B2B and B2C commercials, video scripts, print ads, website banners, press releases, social media posts and reposts, CRM emails/newsletters, themed and more conventional annual reports, internal communications (including to support change management), speeches, correspondence with critical stakeholders, crisis communications and even competition submissions. I also provide brand custodianship services (including AI custodianship). In addition, I have experience as a journalist and have organised large events. I was the Chair of the Brighton-based charity SIS for around 11 years, and a Trustee of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. In the latter role, I was also a consultant to the Lord Chancellor’s Department. During these positions and in my work as a senior copywriter and creative director, I have recruited and supervised teams at all levels, providing close individual support and mentorship. • I write scripts. Scripts for creative campaigns, trailers, brand spots, video content. TV commercials and radio ads. Sizzle, sales & press reels. Scripts that engage and entertain target audiences across a range of platforms. Scripts that sell and scripts that inform. On-air and online. Filmed and animated. Performed by voice-over artists, presenters, actors, anyone with the guts to stand in front of a camera, cartoon characters and puppets. And I've worked with lots of different brands, from international broadcasters to local SMEs. Clients include: BBC, Channel 4, Sky, Discovery, UKTV, Channel 5, Disney, Viaplay, Anglian Water, SLM Motor Group, Woodland Holiday Park, Aldiss Home Furnishings. • You have a great idea, but you just can't find the words to make an impact. That's where I come in. I'm a Herefordshire-based copywriter and editor with a love of cheese, puns and Doctor Who (not necessarily in that order). I take the stress out of getting the word out about your business by crafting compelling content that gets you noticed. Interested in working with me? • I specialise in writing copy and content for professional membership organisations, associations, and education providers. Why? Because I love writing for sectors that advocate for life-long learning, development and discovery. And I find that people who work in these sectors are usually really nice! I’ve got a long history working with professional bodies. In fact, I started my career in marketing at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. I moved on to work for student and youth brand, STA Travel, where I honed my writing-for-a-student-audience skills editing the weekly newsletter, running social media campaigns, producing some cracking blog content and managing the eCRM strategy for four global divisions. Since going it alone, I’ve written for clients like the Expert Witness Institute, Chartered Governance Institute, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). I’ve also worked with education provider, Study Group, on email campaigns for Royal Holloway University, University of Strathclyde, and University of Sussex. When I’m not working, you’ll find me attempting to raise two small humans, obsessing over celebrities (the more z-list, the better) and telling myself to go for a run.

  • I’m an accessibility expert helping product and UX teams create content everyone can use. I write inclusive copy and develop visual styles that connect you with your audience. As a freelance content designer, I specialise in creating content that’s genuinely useful and rooted in user experience. From user personas through to user-testing with real people, I use insights from research, search data and lived experience to inform every decision. I don’t rely on assumptions. I ask questions, gather evidence and use what I learn to make content that’s readable, accessible and relevant.
