Free range copywriter: I love writing travel and tourism pieces, and editorial features about lovely products – but having said that - I’ve also written care labels for goalkeeping gloves and a ‘how to’ guide to damp proofing your basement, so let’s not rule anything out. I’ve been a PR and Copywriter since I fell into a job at a busy marketing agency that advertised for a journalist. I was neither a copywriter or a journalist, but it turned out I was pretty good! I soon became the PR and Copywriting Manager and worked there for about nine years, becoming self-employed when my son was born in 2017. Before I worked at the marketing agency, I was an advertorial feature writer for a luxury lifestyle magazine. And before that (after doing my combined English Degree at Lancaster Uni) I was a temp. But that’s a story for another time.

I often describe myself as a thinker & wordist; which is really just a daft way of saying that I look at the bigger picture and my love of branding & marketing stems from a love of words. Scribbled Brands exists because I keep seeing start-ups and small businesses skipping/avoiding/not-caring-about the foundation of their brand. I've been marketing for 5 years, agency-side and in-house. During those years my experience stretches: 💡Thinking (about branding, product & strategy) Coming up with an informed opinion on how to win. 👨💻 👩💻 🎧 📖 📺 Content A fluffy word, it can mean many things. To me, content = blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, social media posts and beyond. 🚀 Marketing Helping us better communicate what we do to the right audiences, at the right time, in the right place; the result = inbound growth. I've helped a multitude of businesses across a variety of sectors: ~ Construct appetising ad copy ~ Join the dots in their marketing strategy ~ Build a bank of better marketing messaging ~ Concoct copywriting for creative campaigns ~ Experiment with some A/B, multivariate or redirect testing ~ Paint a clearer picture of their website visitors and clients ~ Create and calenderise some scrumptious social media copy ~ Write scintillating service pages, scripts, lucrative landing pages & banging blog posts I've headed up an incredible team of contenteers (writers) and developed and trained them while working on product. Audiences have been subject to my voice at TEDx, the Department for International Trade, Experimentation Elite, Local & London-based universities, and others on top. I like to absorb knowledge and then dispense it. I'm also a 🧗♂️crap climber, 🏕️ wannabe adventurer, 🎮 part-time gamer,🏋️ fitness try-hard; share a birthday with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; hold a certificate for “Champion Welly Wanger”; love a good dystopian novel and am 1-inch shorter (in height) than the national average for males in the UK. There... that's everything I think.

Over the past ten years, I've created content for a range of industries — business, entertainment, healthcare, hospitality, fitness, retail, travel, technology — and everything in between. I'm proud to have worked with many prestigious brands, including Expedia, Lenovo, Red Bull, Microsoft and O2, and have ghost-written content for Esquire and Entrepreneur, among others.

Hi, I’m Amy: a decade-long copywriting pro, and the writer behind Expressions Copy & Content. Through focused, results-driven copywriting, I'll help you win leads, boost website traffic, and connect with the right audience. I happily fell into the world of working with words after studying English Literature and Journalism at university. Throughout my career, I've sharpened my skills writing for a variety of brands, including travel companies and non-profits. Over time, I’ve written travel supplements featured in the national press, tour operator brochures, website product descriptions, landing pages, radio and TV scripts, and more blogs than I can count. I started Expressions Copy & Content because I want to help brands express themselves in the best way: the way that will convert leads into sales, while preserving personality and authenticity. I’m a specialist travel, leisure and hospitality copywriter, but I also enjoy copywriting and blogging for businesses in various other industries, including e-commerce and property. I’ll help you: • Boost your website’s SEO with optimised copy and content • Strengthen your brand with a defined tone of voice • Speak to the right audience with the right words: whether you’re looking to sell, educate or inspire So, if you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
