Many years ago… I left university with a science degree and a desire never to have to drip things into test tubes again! I entered the world of communications agencies, developed my creativity and learned to use words to tell stories and promote my clients' products. I really loved the writing and a desire to use this skill to explore new topics and concepts prompted my move to freelance copywriting. Working mainly in healthcare, science and technology, I have developed a knack for taking complex information and making it relatable to the person on the street, the research professor and everyone in between. There’s not much I won’t tackle and I have written and edited sales materials, case studies, patient information, web pages, social media posts, newsletters, magazines, white papers, meeting reports, award entries and media materials. I have even dabbled in poetry but I am not sure that was as successful! I have a natural curiosity, grasp concepts quickly and find it easy to get to grips with new subject matter both inside and outside my usual field. Being from a comms background I also have a good grounding in message development, a skill I find invaluable in helping clients who have something to say but aren’t sure how to say it.
