I'm a fully trained London-based copywriter with a background in publishing, entertainment and mail order marketing. With experience in researching and writing marketing communications, magazine features and web content, I have produced direct mail packs, brochures, insert campaigns, print advertising, emails and websites. My portfolio demonstrates brand diversity and a strong knowledge of platforms. My freelance work has built up from a combination of word of mouth recommendation and interest generated from my website, samanthagould.com, which I created at the end of 2010. These days, I usually work from my office in Sevenoaks, however I am more than happy to work in-house for creative agencies in London, Kent and Sussex. Some of my recent clients include: Direct Line Group, TES Global, First News, News UK (The Times, The Sun), The Week, The British Film Institute, Reckitt Benckiser (Dettol), Staples, GlobeAir, Cyclist magazine, British Sky Broadcasting and Intermission Education in Theatre.

  • You’re here because you want fans, followers and customers to consume your products/services/brand — and ignite glorious beacons in your name. Or why bother, frankly? Your audience actively seeks what you can deliver, and they will be SHOCKINGLY disappointed if your promo shows them YOU DON’T HAVE IT. Those are the rules! Since 2008 I’ve helped entrepreneurs, small businesses, and large organisations position their products, services and brands across a wide range of business sectors. Could be I’ve seen your kind of thing before. My background is theatre and the dialogue of one soul to another. So I’m gtg for the storytelling smarts your audience will gather to follow. Works for tech, leisure, ecommerce — and entrepreneur promo demanding The Full Loud & Proud. After all, unless your audience has LOUSY expectations, they always seek ... THE ONE. So let’s make that YOU. Words are ten a penny in this age of Quick&Easy-AI-Slop-For-All. What makes the difference is strategic copywriting for long term competitive advantage. 2026 promises to be a catalytic moment for all who dare to speak with authenticity and verve. So don’t leave it to your rivals to set the agenda. Drop me a line & tap my brain. I can be surprisingly useful in the right hands.

  • Little me desperately wanted to be a writer and I handwrote a 72 page story called 'Goblin Illness' when I was 10. My mum was a childminder, then my parents became foster carers and it turned out I was pretty great with children. So I got a 'proper' job and became a primary school teacher. I spent eleven years helping children learn in creative ways. The last five years was in Senior Leadership and whole-school English Leadership which wasn't as creative and work started to feel further and further away from my values. So I took the writing skills I'd developed (school website, newsletters, schemes of work, training programmes, reports) and started copywriting as a freelancer in 2023. After writing for different industries and finding out what I enjoyed, I rebranded as Head and Heart Messaging in 2025. Head and Heart Messaging is writing with strategy and soul that helps health and wellness businesses and charities meet regulations and compliance while still sounding human and connecting with their audience. People helping people is my FAVOURITE. I'm on LinkedIn and Instagram and always love a chat!

  • I’ve been a freelance copywriter for 18 years. My career lowlight would be forgetting to press record during my Jason Donovan interview for a music ticket website. This aside, I’ve enjoyed life writing dazzling copy for big brands and local businesses. Long may it continue!
