Hi, I’m Rob. And I’m a creative leader with 16 years experience of managing the creative process from inception to completion through both my own work and mentoring other members of the team. I have: • Got SSC Napoli to help make deliveries over the busy Christmas period • Helped a lady order her shopping while being attacked by territorial squirrels • Made the nation get excited for the biggest baking event on TV • FINALLY revealed the truth behind why the sky is blue and what, exactly an Arancini ball is • Turned an Echo Dot into a sled • Encouraged school children to write to the Prime Minister • Got mums across the UK sharing motherhood stories on Mother's Day - through a Facebook Canvas ad • Taught 200,000 (and counting) people how to open a bottle of beer using a piece of paper • Turned The Cutty Sark into a photo opportunity as iconic as The Leaning Tower of Pisa • Changed the way women experiment and purchase makeup • Been nominated for awards and won a few too I like to be creative at every opportunity. To that end, in my spare time, (and when not raising a child!) I enjoy photography, illustration, writing (I’ve had a short story published in an eBook compilation of short stories. I’ve also self-published two eBooks) and…gardening.

Hello! I'm here to support you and your team with the words you need and, crucially, a working style you'll love. Working style I'm not just a writer. I'm a writer who's good to work with. That means I respect deadlines, I pick up the phone when you call, and I keep you updated on your project's progress. Small details, but they make all the difference. With nigh on 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, I've got a solid background in working within teams and on my own, so tell me how I can slot into your team and trust I'll crack on with what you need. Specialisms I've worked on all types of projects in the past. I particularly enjoy working with professional service organisations, SMEs and HR tech firms. I enjoy long-form content writing, especially blogs and whitepapers. Skills I'm commercially aware and know my way around a P&L or share of market report. I love to dig into the figures to pull out juicy facts that we can use to strengthen your story. I'm SEO-smart. Not an expert, but more than capable of optimising copy in line with your objectives. I'm relatable and love helping non-experts become more confident at writing for their roles. This makes my training and mentoring service especially popular. I'm UK-based, in the South East of England. But don't let that stop you if you're based elsewhere. So long as you have a phone and the internet, we'll get on just fine. Want to know what others say? My LinkedIn profile is the best place to head for testimonials, but here are two to give you a flavour of how I could help you... "I love it!!!! It’s like you got inside my head and put together all my nonsense chatter into exactly what I wanted to say!" "Laura quickly managed to articulate my tone in a friendly but business-like fashion from the outset, and she is now helping me with other content for my business. I love the way Laura works - structured and organised with an informal and friendly approach, patient and always delivering to deadlines."

I’m a highly experienced B2B marketer and have been crafting compelling copy that educates, promotes and sells for the building products, specification and safety sectors for over 20 years. Having worked both client-side and agency, I understand the power of words and how to use them effectively throughout the different marketing channels. Getting the right message across, in the right tone is at the heart of copywriting. I have extensive experience of construction and safety. During my career I have written for a variety of companies including Fernox water treatment, Dulux Trade, fall protection professional Safesite, safety railing supplier Kee Systems and Nu-Heat underfloor heating. My speciality is in construction, building products and health & safety, but I can write on any topic for any type or size of business. I have Copywriting and SEO Content Writing Diplomas which cover an extensive range of disciplines including advertising, direct mail, email, PR, leaflets, brochures, newsletters, thought leadership articles, blogs and social media. I'm also a professional proofreader and copy editor so if you really want exceptional copy, I can create it - from initial draft to final copy.

I spent 16 years writing and editing for national newspapers, working on news, showbiz, diary, health and features. I left to train as a teacher and wrote extensively for the Times Educational Supplement before leaving the classroom to train in deaf communication. My specialisms are education and health. I'm a copywriter for an education website and I work for health websites and magazines. I spent 18 months writing about addiction for a rehab centre, so I'm pretty clued up on that. I've edited more than 50 non-fiction books and I commission authors for Pen and Sword Books. I split my time between working as a lipspeaker (providing communication support for deaf and hard-of-hearing people who don't use sign language), editing books and copywriting. I occasionally do some journalism and I also run a craft and streetfood market.

Sharpen up your website with SEO-optimised web copy and blog content that will help you rank on Google and reach your ideal customers. 🔹🔸🔹 If you like original thinking, embrace your differences and appreciate what it means to be human, you’ve come to the right place. By as soon as next year, it’s estimated that 90% of online content will be written by AI. Imagine that: an internet filled with soulless, sterile, faux-human garbage. Wanna be part of the other 10% — the human 10%? You should. Because, in a crowded marketplace, being different is so much smarter than being better. And, in a space full of the same old noise, making a different sound will capture more attention than just being louder. 🔹🔸🔹 So, what can I offer you? • SEO copywriting for websites • SEO content/strategy for blogs • Copy editing for businesses • Creative and conceptual copywriting. 🔹🔸🔹 Who do I work with? Brands that want to celebrate their differences and value authentic, human-written words. Agencies that want to partner with a creative writer who can conceptualise, who’s used to writing for designers and who writes high-performing SEO copy and content. Web designers who want to partner with an experienced SEO copywriter so they can offer their clients a more complete website service. 🔹🔸🔹 What specialist skills do I have? 25+ years’ professional writing experience, gained in a variety of roles. 20+ years’ design experience, writing for composition, layout and website wireframes. 15+ years’ SEO copywriting expertise, writing websites and blog articles that rank well on Google. 12+ years’ as a conceptual copywriter, developing fully formed creative concepts for projects and campaigns. 🔹🔸🔹 Who am I? I’m a results-driven problem solver. Imaginative, analytical and relentless. I live and work on a farm in the Leicestershire countryside with an evil genius, an eager digger, and a clown. AKA my farmer fiancé and two little terrors — sorry, terriers. I’ll let you decide which one’s which. I’m a fan of dark humour, Irvine Welsh, hip-hop and dance music. And I love an ice-cold negroni — punchy and bitter, like me* *Just kidding! 🔹🔸🔹 Want to discuss a project? My DMs are open. Want prices first? They’re on my website. You’ll find the link down there 👇🏼
