As well as being a freelance copywriter with nearly 30 years' experience (I'm not that old, I just started young), I'm also Content Director at Executive Influence (EI). Our mission is simple: to help B2B brands win business, acquire talent, and attract investors by making more of the often overlooked knowledge, expertise, and opinion that sits in their leadership teams. We do this by creating high-quality executive content that supports their strategic goals, inspires trust, establishes authority, and influences the decision-makers they want to reach. The result? More visibility, more connections, more opportunities, and, ultimately, more business. It’s how we helped one MD capture a £2m opportunity that led to a £20m one. It’s how we helped one CEO achieve a 33:1 ROI with a targeted piece of content. And it’s how we helped one Marketing Director hit 500+ whitepaper downloads by senior leaders in his industry – and, in the process, generate close to £150k of revenue (and counting). If these aren't compelling reasons to invest in executive content, what are? 20 YEARS AT WRITERS Before setting up Executive Influence, I co-founded Writers in 2001 to help businesses and brands in the UK and around the world tell their stories, bring their ideas to life, and get their messages across. With 27 years' full-time writing experience, I'm quick on the uptake, whatever the subject or comms objectives of the brief. I love bringing dry, dusty, or technical subjects to life, which may explain why I write a lot for technology companies, and financial and professional services firms. AWARDS If 'award-winning' is important to you, I've made it into the D&AD Annual a few times and won a Transform award for 'Best use of copy style/tone'. Though, to be honest, I've always put effectiveness before industry accolades. More importantly, I've had lots of clients say nice things about the words I've written for them (gushing testimonials available on request). Once, I even had a boardroom spontaneously applaud after reading my articulation of their brand (also available on request). Brands I’ve worked with include Aldi, Astra Zeneca, Bacardi, Ciena, English Heritage, Environment Agency, Goldsmiths, Kings College London, MasterCard, NIG, Reckitt Benckiser, Reuters News Agency, Rolls-Royce, Thales, Thomson Reuters, Triodos Bank, Vodafone and Worldpay. BRAND WRITING I can also help brands articulate who they are, what they do, and why they're special by developing value propositions, messaging frameworks, style guidelines, and tones of voice. In fact, I've created new tones of voice for folk like the Natural History Museum, global US law firm Latham & Watkins, TNT International, City University London, Hotel du Vin and Malmaison. So their values as an organisation come through strongly in their comms. PROJECT MANAGEMENT I’m an experienced project manager and have run writing teams on large-scale and short-notice projects for outfits like Vodafone Group Enterprise, the BBC, Triodos Bank, Cable & Wireless Worldwide (now part of Vodafone) and the University of West London. QUALIFICATIONS I have a degree in linguistics and have completed Marketing Week's Mini MBA in Marketing taught by Professor Mark Ritson. It covers the same core marketing modules as leading MBA programmes and has been more use to me than all my higher education combined. Anyway, enough about me. Let's talk about you. How can I help?

I create content that adds value. By creating content that brings something to the table, my clients can have confidence that their voice will be heard amid the maelstrom of digital noise that we all face every day. We are inundated by content all of the time, but it's rare we discover content that we feel is really worthy of our attention. By writing content that adds value to end users, I help my clients build their digital profile and online reputation, which in turn helps them to build their business and grow their opportunities. I have worked with brands that include Hildon, IBM, Lenovo, Kaspersky, ServiceMaster, Twinings and Oxfordshire County Council, and have developed a proven track record delivering content that drives new business. My mission is to simplify your customer’s journey towards your solutions. In the beginning: I’ve always been fascinated with human behaviour, especially why people do things and how actions can be positively influenced. Working in the Travel Industry, this fascination helped me offer unique and personalised experiences - and won me awards for my customer service. It also fuelled my journey to a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. But then… After all of that Academic writing, I became frustrated with big words and jargon and developed a passion for easy-to-follow plain English. While working for a major trade show in the Meetings & Events industry, I made it my mission to simplify the sales journey for exhibitors – my clients.  I worked with the marketing team to re-write manuals, web copy, presentations and email campaigns to help my clients get the best from their time exhibiting -  and they loved it.  There began my passion for Copywriting.    Now: Today, I am a qualified, professional freelance copywriter and copy editor.  I write all sorts of web and social media content and printed materials.  My clients are local to Brighton, East Sussex, as well as scattered throughout the UK and Europe. I also love hiking in nature, gardening, Pilates, creative writing and cooking.  All of these keep me happy, healthy, creative and motivated. Ready to write? If you want help getting your message across, contact me. I’d love to hear how your business helps people.

Are you looking for fresh, conversational copy to help your business stand out online? Then my chatty style of copywriting could be just the thing to get your website, blogs, email newsletters or social media updates noticed. Why hire me? I'm not an English grad or journalist turned copywriter. I am a trained, experienced copywriter with a varied business background - everything from construction to banking to crazy golf (I kid you not!). I also have heaps of project management experience. I love researching new subjects and seek out opportunities to learn new skills. I specialise in ‘white hat’ SEO that appeals to both search engines and potential customers. And one of my absolute favourite things is coming up with creative marketing ideas, and adding more value to your business than just providing awesome copy. Although obviously I do that too! I have a long list of happy clients with whom I am only too happy to spend time chatting copywriting, marketing or business in general. Patience and handholding come as standard; perfect if you’re a small business or have never worked with a copywriter before. DISCLAIMER:I am currently living in Germany with my family, but as long as you're happy to chat over Zoom, I'm happy to be of service. :-)

I’m happy to get involved at any point, whether it’s brand, concept or tone of voice development, or writing, editing or proofreading copy. I use words to prompt action from your customers. My favourite copy is short, sweet and sometimes sweary. I'll boil your message down to its core essence. Like a chef reducing down a jus. Then I'll add in some personality. Like the class joker farting in assembly. I do... 🔹️ ad straplines 🔹 posters 🔹 billboards 🔹 ads projected onto the moon 🔹️ hero copy 🔹 villain copy 🔹️ naming projects 🔹️ core messaging, values 🔹️ ad scripts 🔹️ landing pages 🔹️ socials 🔹 anti-socials A bit about me... I have a beautiful clickedy-clackedy keyboard. I'm not saying it gives me the edge over other copywriters but I'm also not *not* saying that. I have two daughters (who I love more than the keyboard - this list is in no particular order). I believe gherkins/pickles go with any savoury dish. Prove me wrong. For a decade I represented Great Britain in a sport you've probably never heard of. I'm patient, a good team player; completed Grand Theft Auto 5 with my husband without getting divorced. Get in touch for copy with character.

Hello there, I'm a copywriter based in Croatia. I have a translator's background, majoring in English and German. My mother tongue is Hungarian. As a translator, I have come across many types of texts, and analyzing them and translating them into English or German made me realize that copywriting is another branch that I can be good at, which I am, mainly because: I know how to convey the message the writer of the text wants to convey, but in another language. I know how to adapt and localize the text to fit the target audience. I know how to craft a copy (web pages, brochures...) to persuade clients to buy, incorporating stories, writing in a TOV that befits the particular field of business. Having affinities toward writing poetry is also something that adds extra interest and an element of "oddity"to my copy, should such a copy need to be written. So, I started out as a translator, but am a copywriter, who has a dab hand in writing appealing copy in more than 1 language. IN 2023- I'm now a website copywriter, adding SEO to my forte. On-page SEO. I write copy in English and CRoatian, and translate from German and HUngarian.

“I am at my best in the morning, so I try to schedule all creative tasks before lunch. If I’m struggling in the morning, I use the classic strategies of changing where I’m working from, taking a break, or exercising in the hope of a Eureka moment.”

Declan Morton, Copywriter.Declan Morton

“I’ve always enjoyed writing but I didn’t set up on my own account until 2019. At that point I had been teaching for nearly two decades and had become frustrated with the academy trust to which my then school belonged. I took a plunge and set up as a freelance writer.”

Jo Watson

“I wish we were all more honest when speaking to newer or younger copywriters and telling them what to expect in their career. It’s a hard job, it’s constantly evolving, and it’s still nowhere near as widely respected (as both an art and a science) as it should be.”

Abby King

“Let your work breathe. While it’s tempting to send over to the client once a piece is ready, I try to give it at least 24 hours (where time allows!) before I go back in, review and send.”
