𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐀𝐌 𝐈? 👋 I’m Sanina, a former journalist-turned-freelance-copywriter. 🏆 I'm an industry awards judge & run The Awards Clinic (my awards-writing service) in addition to providing content strategy & delivery support. ⌨️ I’ve been writing for 20+ years. My experience spans: ⚬ Print and broadcast journalism ⚬ In-house local Government communications ⚬ Agency-side PR & content/inbound marketing 𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐌𝐄? I’ve been writing since the age of 17, when I started out as a trainee reporter at my local newspaper. More than 20 years later, I’m still writing. Over the years, I’ve helped a wide range of B2B and B2C businesses, agencies and individuals across a variety of sectors generate leads and increase sales by communicating the right messages to the right people at the right time. Most businesses don't need more leads. They need to stop ghosting the ones they've already got. That's where I come in. I help businesses turn cold leads, ignored enquiries and dusty old email lists into replies, bookings and sales. Mostly through email. That's where the bulk of my copywriting work comes from these days, through The Email People. And honestly, I love it. Because while everyone's busy shouting about social media algorithms, AI prompts and whatever LinkedIn's pretending to care about this week, email's still quietly making businesses money in the background. Funny that. What I actually do I write emails people want to read. Not the corporate waffle filled with 'synergy', 'solutions' and paragraphs so dry they could absorb floodwater. I'm talking: Sales emails Welcome sequences Lead nurture campaigns Re-engagement emails Newsletters Automated email journeys Outreach emails Direct response campaigns The sort of stuff that sounds like an actual human wrote it. Mad concept, I know. Who I work with Mostly SMEs, agencies, consultants, SaaS companies and service businesses. Usually, businesses that know email matters but either: Haven't got time to do it properly Don't know where to start Or have been sending painfully dull emails nobody's reading Sometimes all three. My approach I write how people speak. Conversational. Clear. Benefit-led. No fake urgency. No chest-beating LinkedIn guru nonsense. No pretending every email needs to sound like a monster truck rally hosted by a crypto bro. Just good, solid copy that sounds natural and gets to the point. I want emails to feel like someone's having a proper conversation with you. Not reading from a laminated sales script while maintaining aggressive eye contact. What clients usually need help with Waking up dead email lists Getting more replies from outreach campaigns Building proper automated journeys Making technical services sound less painfully technical Improving engagement and conversions Stopping their emails from sounding like they were written by a committee of exhausted accountants The other side of what I do I also help with the technical bits behind the scenes. So alongside copywriting, I help businesses with: Email platform setup CRM support Deliverability reviews Automation Email template design Software recommendations Because good email marketing isn't just about writing nice words. It's making sure the bloody things actually land in someone's inbox, too. If you want emails that sound human and pull their weight, feel free to get in touch.

You're selling a decision. A decision to buy – or not to. And such decisions happen faster than you can think. Quite literally. You see, before your conscious mind has had the chance to process, your subconscious has already made its calculations. In fact, cognitive scientists say ~95% of our behaviour, emotion, decision-making (and more) depend on brain activity beyond our conscious awareness. 95%! In other words, we're basically running on autopilot. And using some (very) convincing post-rationalisations to justify our actions... In over 200,000 years, that's not really changed. We were (and still are) guided by behavioural principles and evolutionary instincts we're not fully aware of. The outcomes are different, yes - we're not fighting for survival anymore - but the drivers are still very much the same. They're hardwired into us. And once you know what they are (and how to tap into them) influencing behaviour becomes a whole lot easier. You can do it in person, over the phone, online, in writing - it doesn't matter. It all works the same way. And you need it. Just like every other business. Because... How are you going to generate leads... make sales... launch new products... impress investors... grow your customer base... without changing behaviour? Winning others to your way of thinking isn't a "nice-to-have". It's a must-have. Especially when you have a product or service that genuinely helps the people in your market. In the written realm, i.e. the world of copywriting, you need to convince your readers that your product or service is worth the money they're about to pay for it. And, in essence, that's all persuasion is: Highlighting how your offering benefits your reader – and agitating how bad life will be without it. Push. Pull. Push. Pull. And any copywriter – heck, *anyone* – could follow that approach... But the devil is in the details. Just stating facts is too overt. Too obvious. (Think, when was the last time you bought something, knowing you were being persuaded?) Instead, you need to be subtle. Compelling. And slip in under the radar. You need to make your readers feel like they're making this decision themselves. And that's not something just "anyone" can do. Over 75 businesses across the UK have used me to help them win their market to their way of thinking. And I've done so via websites, landing pages, sales pages, emails and social media ads. Together, we've turned hesitant window shoppers into high-paying loyal customers, who not only want to take action... but enjoy coming back for more. So, get what your business needs. Message me now. “Lewis is a great copywriter. He has worked on ads and landing pages for us, both delivering fantastic results. He is easy to work with, enjoys collaborating and is always honing his skills. Highly recommended.” -- Stephen Bavister, Director/Founder of LexisClick Growth Consultancy 5 (kinda weird) facts about me: - I like to eat kiwis with the skin on - I'm based near Ipswich, Suffolk - I graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Automotive Materials Engineering - I'm on a mission to visit 50 countries before I'm 30 (I've visited 46 so far) - I'm a big fan of RHCP, especially John Frusciante

So, you're wondering if I have the credentials to work with your company? I'd say so... For over 15 years I've worked with brands across tech, culture, charities, education and design. I've also worked alongside some lovely PR agencies and marketing firms along the way. I'm a contributor to Design Week, a University of Sheffield graduate and a Mini MBA in Marketing alumna. I understand not just how to write, but why certain words work harder than others. Alongside my copywriting work, I'm also a published journalist. My work includes a featured interview with the co-founders of the first Scottish design studio to receive B Corp status, and an exclusive conversation with Alex Giles, who created the 2026 Brit Awards identity. I grew up with The Famous Five, The Faraway Tree and The Secret Garden. I love to read, I love to write, and I find people genuinely fascinating. Maybe it's that curiosity that drives everything I do in this job. If you're looking for copy that sounds like you on your best day, drop me a message.
