Since 2010, I've been helping clients of all sizes exceed expectations; Scaling up and reaching new customers, transforming how they sound to their audience, while challenging and changing minds along the way. I’ve stayed focussed as an INSTAX Fujifilm partner for eight snap-happy years Developed refreshingly simple brand language for Leave Dates Brought Lyons Coffee into the 21st Century Baked-in some seriously sticky Krispy Kreme copy delights Made an excellent impression on IBM (improving reach from 5,000 to over 100,000 impressions) Pulled off SPOKE London’s famous idiosyncratic style across 150 emails Rode alongside Dreamland Margate on the crest of their fun-filled nostalgia wave And gone full ‘blockbuster’ for cinematic design company Blind Ltd’s tone of voice. Today, you’ll find me in the TMCM Dorset office, chewing pens and crafting words for big global brands and local independent businesses. Whether you’re town or country, corporate or start-up, I’d love to see if I can make a difference. Drop me a line today!

You're busy, so let's keep this quick. Here are 4 questions my clients ask: ONE: How much do you charge for copywriting and content writing? Around £400 per day, depending on your business, the writing which is needed, and the deadline. Small businesses and charities generally pay less than agencies and larger businesses. Once we have a discovery call and I learn all about your business, I'll create a bespoke proposal outlining your whole project and the exact costs. You'll know the full costs of the project before you sign the contract. The only reason the price will change is if the scope changes, but we'll discuss this if it arises. TWO: Are you available now? Sort of. Very likely, yes. I intentionally leave lots of space in my diary for quick projects, such as a page of website copy, or a couple of blogs. So, if I can squeeze in some work I will. I really get a kick out of helping people, and I get that you might need some copy fast. Depending on the exact deadline you need (AKA: how late I'll have to work in the evening or if I'm working over a weekend) I might need to include a 25% rush fee. Generally, it takes around 6- 8 weeks to complete a copywriting project like a white paper or a full website. I can be booked for these projects 2- 3 months in advance. We can discuss exact deadlines in your discovery call. THREE: Are you an experienced copywriter? Yes. I've written everything from SEO blogs to Instagram captions to Deliveroo listings. I've written white papers and website copy. I've written newsletters and emails and product descriptions. I'm pretty gosh darn confident I could write anything you wanted. I mostly write for fabulous small UK business owners, but I've also worked with digital agencies, national brands, and international businesses. My writing has even appeared in the press, and I've got a burgeoning Substack newsletter. Head to my website for examples of my writing. FOUR: What happens when a client works with a copywriter?Everyone's got their own processes, but this is how I work best. 1. We start with a discovery call, which lasts up to 30 minutes. This is where I learn exactly what you’re looking for, the deadline, and your budget. 2. I’ll write you a proposal. If you’re happy to proceed, I’ll send you a contract and an invoice for 50% of the fee. 3. It's time for you to create a super detailed brief. I can help you with this. 4. I write your first draft and send it to you. You tell me about anything which needs to be edited. 5. I edit the first draft and send draft two back to you, with the final invoice. 6. You upload the copy to your website, or send it to your email list, or post on social media, and start engaging with your customers. 7. (And, perhaps you write me a lovely testimonial too? Hey, a girl can dream!) That's it! Easy, huh? "Bonnie refined my brand voice and optimised what I wanted to say into a condensed and easy- to- read format. All my conversations with Bonnie were natural and productive. She delivered all that she promised in a timely and professional manner." I can't wait to meet you and hear all about your business. Do you hear that? That's the sound of your one daily website visitor (a drunk bloke who was actually looking for something else). But we can fix your audience woes and – I'll wager – conversion issues. Once we figure out exactly what your customers need, I'll start turning curious visitors into potential buyers. That means site-plans, wireframes, words, headers, keywords – the lot. Here's what I can do for you... 1/ Websites Your website should be one of your biggest money spinners. If it's not – dang. Let me dissect what you currently have, reimagine it, plan a better approach and then deliver hooky, punchy copy built with user experience, conversion and SEO in mind. Working on web copy for launches or relaunches is what I do most days (please see my freelance copywriter website for testimonials). 2/ Interviews When you need a seasoned writer to extract a great story from someone important — such as a time-pressed CEO or case study participant — I rely on 20+ years of experience and literally thousands of completed projects to deliver what you need. Last time I checked, AI still can't do this. 3/ Fix 'meh' AI copy Let's not pretend no one in marketing is using AI copy. If AI content is a necessity in your organisation, I can give it the shot of multivitamins it needs so it reads well, is accurate, and is rinsed of those irksome AI-isms that piss off search engines and bore the pants off readers. Human AI editing is a thing – and I can help. Check out my page on AI copy editing services for more details. Note: We don't have to go anywhere near AI if you'd prefer not to. I also offer documentable, non-infringing, 100% original copy – just as I have throughout my career. Whatever works for you. I regularly look after other kinds of work, too, such as: * Marketing emails and newsletters that generate clicks. * Survey results/analysis/reports (I'm a bit of a wizz with numbers). * Corporate copy without the corporate speak. * International copywriting (when you need a native-English copywriter for that all-important text aimed at a global market – I do this for clients in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark and Japan). * White papers on almost anything. * LinkedIn and Facebook ads. * Print and digital brochures, sales PDFs, and more. Over the years, I have: * Got lost in creative work for everyone from Samsung to Cannes Lions and Harrods. * Generated meticulously planned (and written) launch copy for countless websites – large and small. I've heard what I do described as "information architect," but I'm not buying it. * Created social media content for all the main channels. * Penned copy for technical guides, flyers, billboards, packaging, and LinkedIn profiles. * Helped numerous brands to increase web traffic, conversions, and time on site. If you need a sharp, efficient, highly skilled writer who 'gets' things quickly and doesn't faff about... drop me a line. --- "We've discovered a true wordsmith in Mike. I am proud to recommend him to those in need of exceptional copywriting services." Rasmus Nørgaard, Group CMO, TITAN Containers "We needed sharp, accurate copy on a tight timeline, and Mike absolutely delivered. He grasped the brief straight away and articulated a complex framework in a way that felt both accessible and engaging." Guljeet Sahney – Head of Market Insights, Pearson Ham "I was picky when choosing our copywriter – I'm so glad I hit the jackpot with Mike! He gets it. Quick, self-propelled, adaptable – and super-professional to work with." I'm Jess, a professional writer and editor with over 15 years' experience, and a provider of flawless copy in good journalistic style. I'm particularly good at writing about complex business models and technology in layman's terms. I've been told: “You're the only journalist who's written about our product and actually grasped what it's all about.” I've also heard: “You have a gift for writing about boring stuff and making it sound interesting.” Writing is what I do. For nine years I was features editor on the B2B bus and coach magazine routeone, and then editor of its sister magazine Group Tourism & Travel, visiting and writing about businesses from all sorts of angles – tight-knit family links, clever innovations, business longevity – always with the intention of showcasing to other business leaders how they could adopt bits of best practice. Since those days I’ve turned my hand to freelance B2B copywriting, quickly becoming an expert in topics from eCommerce and manufacturing to lead generation and account-based marketing. My focus is always on my client’s USPs, and what makes their business such a great choice for its customers. Hi, I’m Lex. I’ve been helping brands find their voice and tell their stories for over 15 years. I’ve worked with businesses of all shapes and sizes doing things like defining tone of voice and training people to use it, naming products and companies, work-shopping key messages, and copywriting for all kinds of things. Recently, I’ve set the tone for a fintech start-up, helped a very popular video game company define its voice, and named a couple of boozy businesses.
